I was born in Yonkers, New York, raised in the New York City borough of Queens (specifically Flushing. Let’s go, Mets!) but moved to Connecticut with my husband and two children 13 years ago. I liked growing up in Flushing because of its abundance of trees; I love living in Connecticut for the same reason.
In addition to books, my favorite things are clothes, tea, wine, food, and music. I’d love a lush flower garden, but one year I bought rose bushes guaranteed to grow and killed them. I enjoy travel and have visited spots as disparate as Caracas and Israel. I’ve never been to Italy. That’s my next big dream.
For many years, I blogged at DatingAdviceAlmostDaily, but I recently discontinued the site. You can still find my dating advice at its predecessor, HappyGirlMusing.
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know I became a huge proponent of Emotional Freedom Techniques (or Tapping) in 2006, after it helped me resolve an intractable case of insomnia. Since then, I have become a certified EFT practitioner and tap with my dating clients and others. Sometimes, my clients know what they have to do to achieve their goals, but a fear or emotional block prevents them. My joy as an EFT practitioner is helping people dissolve blocks and move forward.
My other passion is writing fiction, and my hope is to publish novels and short stories. In August 2015, I had the excellent fortune to take first place for fiction in the literary competition at the Trumbull Arts Festival and be invited to read my short story at the historic Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
